Literature Text

I can feel the warmth beneath the cold
never could never trust what I was told
as I fell from my palace on the moon
all I could think was I would hit the ground soon

A step forward into fiery red
a step backwards in to icy blue
my dreams lay out of bed
into the sweeping grace of afternoon

I kept my love under the floorboards in a jar
knowing that if I ran that I would not run far
A glancing look, a moment of laughter
is all the fool was ever after

A step forward to the door
a step backwards with whom I adore
my dreams kiss my eyes goodnight
and lock me in with the light
My first poem I have ever shown the public. This is my first attempt at actually finishing and putting down a poem from my mind. I like cryptic and abstract thought but I don't think anything special of this work. I often do poetry like this in my head, thought I would share it with the world and hear it's cheers or jeers.

Well, share more of this sort of poetry! How quaintly profound it is, how curious. ;)

I believe I can safely say that you're settled in the "cheers" category.
